TO ALL MY THESPIANS...
GHONG XI FAH CHAI...HONG PAO NA LAI?! XIN NIEN KUAI LE!!!
Here are your Chinese New Year Break Homework/Assignments...!
FIRST...I want the script for Act One, Scenes 1-6, to continuously circulate among ourselves in our e-mails during the break. Each scene, except the Prologue, should not be less than 2-3 pages long. Remember to develop the conversation and the character of the individual talking. BE THE CHARACTER as you write the lines so you will have more personal connection with what you are writing. When it circulates, give your additional comments in any other color and be specific with it. By the time we get back...we have to have Act One over and done with and, except for Nina, the other parts will be casted already...!
SECOND...as you can see, we do not have any rehearsals for our CUT/History of Drama Performance during this break. However, when we get back...I expect you to have everything you need for the performance...from acting perfection to make-up to costume to props to music. I think I have the Opera and Kabuki music with me already so no need to worry about that. Our final performance date on this will be on Thursday, 11 March 2010, 360 Hall...no more changes...!
LASTLY...read and understand the section on How to Judge a Play, pages 530-534. This will hopefully give you a better insight on how to go about with writing our play so that it does not come out lame or very superficial, but then again, not too complicated and confusing. Keeping the ideas present in your heads as you create the characters will make you aware of what is proper and what is not...remember not to base your writing on what you wnat to happen, but rather, on what you think would appeal most to your audience...!
That's All Folks! Finish all your homework/assignments immediately so you can enjoy your break more...do not procrastinate and leave it off to the weekend before school starts. Take care and be safe always if ever you are going out of town or out of the country...be ready to Rock-N-Roll as soon as we get back...and of course...enjoy your vacation! Be good and study well...CIAO!!!

TO ALL MY THESPIANS...
GREETINGS!
I would like you to please choose one of the following scenarios below and work on a simple mime to show us how the entire situation ends. You are going to perform this mime as soon as we get back to class on Tuesday, 27 October 2009. It does not have to be a long performance...as the title goes..."How Does It End?!"...therefore that is all you have to show on your own---in mime form of course! No explanations should be given...meaning, your audience should be able to comprehend how your chosen scenario ends. No costumes, no props, no make-up...just you...the scenario...and your idea on how the situation should end...SIMPLE! If you read what I told you to focus on and read from the text...this should be a cinch...! CIAO!!!

HOW DOES IT END?!
A High School student coming home only to be told by his mother that their father left them for another woman…story continues and ends with the confrontation of student, mother, sibling(s) and the woman and father…! HOW DOES IT END?!
A person accuses his best friend of selling out to the “other group” based on what people from that group has told him/her…the pain of a best friend trusting the words of others rather than his own becomes unbearable to the friendship…! HOW DOES IT END?!
A circus clown sharing with his/her fellow clowns how miserable he/she feels about the work he/she has been doing for the past 26 years…the others are baffled by the fact that the person lasted that long in an occupation he/she despised…! HOW DOES IT END?!
A break up of a relationship between two individuals leads to one of them wanting to end it all by committing suicide…the person is later prevented from doing so by a stranger who later on turns out to be related/associated to the partner who caused the break up…! HOW DOES IT END?!
